NOVA Hope for Haiti is a 501c3 charitable organization established to bring urgently needed humanitarian aid in the form of healthcare to the impoverished people of the Republic of Haiti, the poorest nation in the western hemisphere. This goal is currently being implemented through 1) the creation of a central clinic that will treat and educate a population of some 200,000, 2) the establishment of community healthcare-related outreach programs, 3) the provision for nutritional and basic healthcare education, 4) the facilitation of one-week biannual medical clinics in Haiti, and 5) the training of lay itinerant health care workers who will access and monitor health related issues throughout the many isolated mountain communities in southwest Haiti. Local responsibility for health maintenance and self- sufficiency will be taught and encouraged. |
