Eighty percent of the income for non-profit organizations in the United States comes from individual private donors and private foundations. To date, 100% of NOVA Hope for Haiti’s revenues has been donated directly or been raised through our annual Gala fund raising event. With these proceeds we have purchased 12 acres of desirable land in Haiti, helped to finance two medical missions and maintained an office and operations here in the United States. To date we do not have salaried personnel and rely strictly on volunteer staff. We will soon receive our capitol budget estimate for clinic and residence construction in Haiti, and start a capitol funding campaign to meet these sizable upcoming costs. Although NOVA will initiate many inquiries and submit grant requests in 2009 for wellness and vaccination programs, we still rely on financial support from individuals like you to meet our capitalization need for major initial construction.
