About NOVA
What We Do

NOVA Hope for Haiti is a 501c3 charitable organization established in 2004 to bring urgently needed humanitarian aid in the form of healthcare to the impoverished people of the Republic of Haiti, the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. This goal is currently being implemented through

  • The creation of a permanently staffed eight-room central clinic that will function on a permanent basis and treat and educate a population of some 200,000, both urban and rural.
  • The establishments of community run healthcare-related outreach programs in rural isolated areas.
  • The provision for basic healthcare education and nutritional information.
  • The facilitation of organized one-week visiting medical and surgical teams to southern Haiti.
  • The formal training of lay itinerant health care workers who will serve as first line agents of primary treatment, and to monitor health related issues throughout the many isolated mountain communities in southwest Haiti.

Local responsibility for health maintenance and self-sufficiency will be taught and emphasized, and local participation in both decision-making and governance over medical programs will be fostered and encouraged to stimulate self-dependency.
